Latest release from experimental DIY label Year Zero.
Blind Man Walking's first long player is a challenging mix of smoggy atmospheres, glitchy electronics, and post modern free jazz saxophony.
Kinda like listening to a combination of The Solar Myth Arkestra jamming with Cluster and Eno through three miles of steel piping leading from a stage in a Late Diner at 4:17 am.
Download it before mediafire fucks everything up for everybody!

Volcano The Bear - " Volfur " (Volucan 04) 1998 Re-post
My original post(view it here for the review) of this classic performance was on a cd-r purchased from VTB's Aaron Moore, which over time had disintegrated into an inaudible mush; but he has kindly re-furbished me with pristine MP3 versions, which you can now download and listen with ease and ,hopefully, pleasure.
DOWNLOAD HERE!
This is very timely because they have a new album out, and are on tour(scroll down for details). So buy the record and go and see 'em. They're one of the few bands worth supporting.
I'm going to the gig in Albi,France, if anyone wants to slag me off in person.
ADVERTISEMENT (NORMALLY AGAINST MY PRINCIPLES,BUT THIS IS A WORTHY CAUSE):
Tour itinerary etc:
It is both reverential and sacrilegious, giving the music its full praise whilst also subjecting it to playful subversion. Some of the editing is obvious and transparent, but some of it much less so, where sounds from different recordings and continents overlap into an unlikely whole.
Tracks:
Produced by Kev Reverb, Physio and Firkin pub, 06/02/1998; formerly of another Leicester band, the terrible 'Crazyhead'.

"The End Of Music" (Radical Phamplet from 1978/1983))

"BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!"
"Never trust a Situationist", just one of many nuggets on this severe slagging off of punk rock and 'punks'. Nobody escapes the punk purity police in this classic pamphlet which contains articles from 1978 to 1983. the titles of the four pieces contained within the starkly gaudy cover say it all: "The Revolution of Everyday Alienation", "White Dopes On Punk", Rebel Music and State Morality", and " Music All Day Helps You Work and Play".
40+ pages of how the Pistols were just an extension of McLaren's consumerist ambition, and basically how full of empty platitudes was the rhetoric of it's chief protagonists; "...the same old hippie trip..." (J.Rotten 1977)
I have to say, although its purist values get on one's proverbials, I have to agree with the large majority of the arguments contained in these pages.
The Pistols do loom large in my legend, but now one has a perspective view, they did rather represent the ugly side of capitalism, and sold it to us as some kind of scam on industry, when it was really a scam on us ,although i'd never describe myself as one, 'Punks'.
'twas a relief when Lydon formed a real 'punk' band with PiL,that some real values resurfaced with what is now labelled, Post-Punk, when we all thought it was still Punk Rock! The jeans and leather jacket brigades left to be Exploited.....White Dopes on Punk indeed.
The first few pages only are displayed above as a taster;for the full booklet click below.

"Sniffin` Glue" No.7 (feb 1977)

More sniffin' glue from Hero of DIY Mark Perry. The man who championed Inclusive Punk rather than the exclusive elitism favoured by the trendy 'Clique' of the inner circle. Especially the awful 'Bromley Contingent', and other poor 'ickle middle class, and worse, fuck up wanna be's. Let's not forget nasty Pop svengali's.
Original Punk rock was basically full of Shit, except for the 'music'. It was left to those who followed in its wake to live out some of it's confused ideology.

"Sniffin` Glue" No.1 (1976)

The godfather of DIY ,Mark .p`s year zero fanzine. Responsible for spreading the DIY ethos beyond the Kings Road,if it ever existed in that cesspit of consumerism!?
"Don`t just read this!Start your own Fanzine" he said earnestly in fluent photocopied typeface and scribble,in Sniffin Glue 5.
What he didn`t write ,by the way, was, the infamous,"...here`s three chords, now start a band...." piece. Which appeared at the end of 1976 in the Stranglers fanzine "Sideburns"!
Just had to put that pub myth to bed.

"Arthur Turner" (Industrial Culture Art Booklet) 1980-ish?
Another DIY artzine from the early Industrial era.Don't ask me who Arthur Turner is or was, although i'm sure there's some aging art bore out there who does.
That aside, this is another fascinating piece of Xerox beauty.

"Communication 2" - (Publication in an Industrial Stylee, by Twenty Two Face) 1980

The less pretentious follow up to Communication by Twenty Two Face, from Northampton,UK.
Takes the form of some obscene cut and paste tabloid. Great stuff.

"Communication" - (Publication in an Industrial Stylee, by Twenty Two Face) 1980
Interesting booklet from a group of multi-media artists from Northampton called 'Twenty Two Face'. Obviously inspired by Throbbing Gristle's appearance in Town at the Guild Hall in 1979.(incidently supported on the night by a pre-pubescent Bauhaus!)
Also of interest is the list of costs incurred whilest creating this magazine, as listed on the last page. Very Desperate Bicycles indeed.
